Both of us are feeling a little under the weather with bad colds. We went for a bit of an exploration walk and discovered a Fri market. Bought some arugula and hand rolled cigars and veggies. 

Met the group at the beach. Had an awesome time on the boggie board.

Came home for a swim and shower then went back to Dave's place for fresh fish, shrimps and salad and wine :) And a little Triominos .

The circus has rolled into town right by us ....scary. They were putting up the lights standing on the cab of the truck on a metal ladder joining exposed wires

We decided to do the hike to San Pancho today. The hike is 1 - 1 1/2 hrs one way. We got lost.... couldn't tell which trail to take and it took us 3 hrs to get there. And part of it was on the highway... a bit scary :( We found 2 beautiful beaches... one with a naked young lady sunbathing. I had on the wrong shoes and by the time we got there it was well after mid day and hot!!! We found the taqueria recommended by Shawn and Martine.... had a beer. We started to walk back up to the highway to get the bus but spotted a taxi so paid the. $10.

We met the gang and had dinner at the best known taqueria ....sirloin steak tacos ... $3 each....yum !! And bring your own beer. Sit on the cobblestone street :)

We decided to try a beach a bit farther away that was supposed to have calmer water for swimming. The beach had very few people but was quite small and still waves 5'

Before dinner I did a few short lengths, showered and we walked part of the town and along the beach to the north.

Then fabulous fresh prawn for dinner and a couple of episodes of House of Cards

Tuesday

Dave and Hilary's internet was down so we couldn't get in touch with them. They arrived here and we were going to go to the beach. But a decision was made to have a pool day

We went to their place for dinner. Max was a chef so we had an amazing meal.... fresh dorado, prawns, green and potato salad. And after dinner Triominos and Uno and Tequila :)

Monday

After a lazy morning by the pool we went to meet max marion Dave and hilary at the beach. The surf is pretty high apparently from a storm in the pacific that is also affecting Hawaii. We walked down and had a short visit with Willem and jope

 

We stopped at a roadside bar for guacamole and beer on our way home. 

Light dinner here then back to town for Monday night Cuban salsa band. Lots of dancing :)

The local bar above us has the loudest most annoying taped Mexican music that plays for 6 hrs straight. It is ruining my enjoyment of our place. Need to figure out a way to block it out .... earplugs don't work :( 

Sayulita day 3

This morning we were wakened by roosters at 4:30 :(
But the bed was fairly comfortable and large. We had a relaxing morning by the pool and then had breakfast outside. We walked into town to get Ron a SIM card. Then we found Dave and Hilary's place on Gringo Hill. Max and Marion had just arrived from Vancouver.
We had a beer and catch up then went to the beach. They all went swimming but we didn't gave our suits. The waves were 5' high :) Ron and I had a delicious homemade pistachio ice cream ....yum!!!
We finished up the last part of the internet for Ron's phone then came home for a swim in the pool accompanied by nachos and margs.  Ron made a BBQ burger and I washed all the veggies and made salad. We tried playing a game of triominos but discovered it wasn't much fun with just 2 people. We decided to check Netflix and watched 2 episodes of House of Cards. In the middle I had a couple of bouts of diarrhea and was worried for a minute about the dinner but it passed.
From 4:00 until 10:00  LOUD Mexican music was playing from the bar down the road. It was sooooo annoying because it was soooooo loud. Hope it is just a weekend thing :( as it was the same lady night.
Also Ron's bar stool collapsed while we were eating dinner. Luckily he didn't get hurt but it was kind of funny. The bar stools are way too short for the bar so maybe no one had sat there for a while.

We arrived

We made it safely. The flight was 4 1/2 hrs and smooth the whole way.

Our taxi was waiting for the four of us and we stopped at the Mega store to get loaded up on staples.

Now eating a cheese and tomato sandwich and drinking corona. 

It's 10:30 here...2 hr time difference.

23 degrees still :) but quite humid.

The place is as amazing as the pictures :) It is huge and the grounds are wonderful.

It is a bit far from town but supposedly only a 10 min. walk so we'll see how that goes tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing it in the daylight 

It took Dave and Hilary a half hour to find their place. Nick came over on his golf cart to direct them.

Day before leaving

We are getting ready to leave tomorrow. Trying to get our list if "to dos" done.
Usual anxiety ...upset stomach and diarrhea :(
